I’m María Guadalupe Alvarez — a music composer, singer and artist based in Brisbane, originally from Argentina.
I would like to tell you about who I am …
I’m passionate about creating music that tells stories and express emotion — whether through orchestral and chamber compositions, electroacoustic sounds, or through exploring different feelings with my voice. I am constantly amazed and inspired by many situations, things, and perspectives from my daily life, but lately I found particularly interesting nature, architecture and visual arts.
With an academic background in both composition and singing, I enjoy blending disciplines and exploring the expressive possibilities of sound. I compose for ensembles, films, and immersive experiences, and also perform soul, jazz, and pop music live.
Right now, I’m especially drawn to combining my voice with my compositions to create immersive, emotional sound atmospheres and experiences.
